Since its inception in October 1924, World Savings Day, also called World Thrift Day, has evolved into a day of celebrating and spreading awareness about saving.

As women gain economic empowerment and the gender wage gap narrows, it’s imperative to encourage them to take bold steps toward financial inclusion. A part of this effort is helping women gain full control of their finances by teaching them how to save and build a relationship with money.
But with recent increasing barriers to financial freedom, this brings to the fore the need for a holistic approach that is particularly impactful for women.

The 2022 Herconomy World Savings Day Fest, themed “Women Save Too!,” takes us back to where it all began–a celebration of savings. But this time, we’re celebrating women who save.

As part of our initiative, we’re inviting stakeholders to share their saving stories and give actionable advice on how to create an ecosystem that allows women to save and thrive. Plus, we’ll be discussing how women can gain money-management skills to achieve financial freedom faster.

As part of the event, we will also be showcasing women whose work is focused on the financial freedom of women.
